About Amanda
Amanda Kumagai is a licensed physical therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting clients through myofascial and musculoskeletal movement challenges. She earned her master's degree in physical therapy from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota, in 2002. Since then, Amanda has dedicated her career to guiding individuals toward greater movement ease.
Amanda's connection to movement and physical well-being began long before her professional training. As a track athlete, she developed a deep curiosity about how the body heals, adapts, and performs - an interest that naturally led her toward physical therapy. She earned her undergraduate degree in athletic training, where she strengthened her understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, and the body’s remarkable capacity for change. That foundation guided her into physical therapy, where she continued building the expertise—and the commitment to excellence and growth—that continues to shape her practice today.
Amanda brings that same passion and curiosity to her work with clients from late adolescence through adulthood. She has supported teens recovering from sports injuries and adults navigating the effects of repetitive strain, agin, and long-standing movement patterns. Her deep understanding of how the musculoskeletal system changes over time allows her to meet each client where they are - with expertise, clarity, and genuine care.
Amanda’s approach is rooted in whole-body integration and a deep respect for each person's movement history. She takes time to understand every client's needs and goals, guiding them step by step through a personalized process. Alongside hands-on therapy, Amanda offers knowledge and practical tools that empower clients to take an active role in their care. She considers it a privilege to work side by side with people—building awareness, restoring resilience, and supporting them as they pursue their movement goals.
